Nursery Gear Guide is a calm parent brief for US families choosing baby gear. We cite NHTSA, CPSC and AAP where safety matters, and we copy maker limits instead of inventing test scores.

How we research

We are upfront about this: we have not bench-tested the products on this site. Our guides rest on three things.

• Manufacturer spec sheets. Key specs come from each brand's own product page, with the date we checked. Each product card links to that page and shows the date we checked it.
• Arithmetic you can check. When we estimate or calculate, we show the formula and the assumptions.
• Public safety guidance. Safety advice comes from NHTSA, the CPSC and the AAP, linked where we use it. Always follow your product manual, and get a car seat checked by a certified technician. Nothing here is medical advice.

When a maker's own figure sounds optimistic, we label it as the maker's figure.
